For 4 weeks in July I am going to Tanzania, Africa, to volunteer with an NGO called Light in Africa, check out there website: http://www.lightinafrica.org/.
This charity runs orphanages in the Kilimanjaro area. Myself and 15 other medical students are going to help out in the orphanages by assissting in providing medical assistance and equipment, money for schooling, helping to build a community building, running community awareness programmes, helping in food kitchens etc.
I need to raise £2000 to volunteer over there. I need to raise money for flights, visas, immunisations, accomodation and I am raising money for the charity itself which will be spent once over there on operations for children, schooling for children, medical equipment etc.
To raise money for all this, on may 9th I am running the Leeds half marathon (13 miles).
